The Journey

Coo...that was a bit of a marathon, but we have arrived safe and well in Cincinnati after 21 hours of travel. Boys were falling asleep all over the place by the end...the Dean had to carry one young man onto the plane at Chicago. By 7pm, whenever we stopped for more than a few minutes, there was synchronised sleeping. We soon learned that the trick was to keep everyone on their feet. An added bonus was that there were two moving walkways at Chicago, Gate B9, and the boys managed to stay alert by zooming up and down, and sometimes in the right direction. The locals didn't mind - they loved it.

Our day started at 5.40. It soon became apparent that the combination of the last night of term, the last ever night in the 'old' boarding house and the excitement of going to America had meant that sleep had been at a premium. Ho hum...but there can be no denying the exuberance of youth.

The boys have been fantastic throughout: patient and polite and lovely. The air hostess on the United Airlines flight from Chicago to Cincinnati wished that all flights could be this polite and we all agreed that the boys have been wonderful; this is going to be the theme for this tour.

Mega lie-ins tomorrow - breakfast is served until 10am and a lazy day is in order.
